Canara Bank has developed BHIM UPI App based on the NPCI UPI System by Internet & Mobile Banking Section, Digital Banking Services Wing, HO Bangalore. In Sept 2016, RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan has started a UPI pilot project and Canara Bank was one of 21 Banks selected for the UPI Pilot Project. BHIM Canara UPI eMpower is the official UPI App of Canara Bank. The customer not having bank account in the Canara Bank can also install and use it for the UPI services.

- Check your network connection (Getting network connection error after updating Canara UPI App is not common). Restart your phone. It will solve your problem.
- Update Canara UPI App: The latest version of eMpower UPI App is 1.12.0 released on 14 December 2018. Till now there is no new update. So don’t download any other version (.APK) from other websites.
- Login Issue: Not able to loign using fingerprint or MPIN code (PIN). Just click on forgot MPIN and reset it.
- Fetching bank account error: Not able to fetch my bank accounts.
- UPI Registration Failed/ Mobile Verification failed issue and SMS charges is deducted.
- Technical server error occurred

Canara Bank UPI EMPOWER App
Canara Bank developed BHIM Canara EMPOWER UPI app for Android Smartphones. If you have iPhone (Apple Device) or Windows Smartphone, then you have to wait till Canara Bank Develop BHIM UPI App for iPhone and Windows Phones. The Nationa Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) has developed UPI System that allows the customer to send/ receive money realtime 24×7 without bank official approvals. The UPI is a single system that allows transacting through Multiple Bank accounts immediately 24×7.
Install BHIM Canara UPI App
Before downloading the official UPI App of Canara Bank. The customer has to check the minimum eligibility required by “BHIM Canara eMpower”. Below are the minimum requirement to install the Canara UPI App.
- Mobile OS: Only Android OS Phone can install the Canara Bank UPI App. The minimum Android 4.4 and above is required. (For Apple and Windows smartphone) you have to wait till the app is developed.
- Internet Connectivity: At the time of installing and registering for UPI, your device must be connected to the internet (OR you can use USSC Code *99# without Internet UPI Service).
- Mobile Verification: Your mobile number should be registered to bank which has UPI facilities.
- Savings Account or Current Account with sole proprietorship can only use the UPI Service.
To install App, follow the steps given below:
Step 1: Go to the Google Play Store and Search for “BHIM Canara – eMpower”
Step 2: Click on the official App and Install.
Step 3: Given permission (Location, Camera, Call Details, Contacts, SMS etc. ) and follow the instructions.
Step 4: Verify your mobile number for UPI Registration.
Step 5: Fill in the required fields including security questions. (Remember your security questions and answers, as the same will be essential for retrieving password in case you forget the same.)
Step 6: Fetch Bank account details and Generate MPIN.

Features of Canara Bank BHIM UPI App
Following are the features of Canara Empower UPI App.
Maximum Amount: that can be transferred through UPI Rs. 1,00,000/- per day per user.
Minimum Amount: There is no lower limit. Even decimal amount is acceptable in UPI.
Maximum No of Transactions: There is no limit on the no. of transactions. There is limit only on the maximum amount (Rs. 1,00,000/- per day).
Real-time 24×7 Fund Transfer
Supports: UPI, Mobile No. + MMID, Account No. + IFSC, Payment using Aadhaar No.
Generate OTP: This option enables the user to generate an OTP for Merchant transactions.
Change MPIN: This option enables the user to change the MPIN
Generate MPIN: This option enables the user to set MPIN wherein the user shall enter the last 6 digits of their debit card number and set their desired MPIN.
Balance Enquiry: This option enable the user to check their balance. The user will be requested to enter their MPIN for displaying the Balance.
Check Transaction: This option enables the user to check a particular transaction’s details by entering the reference no.
My Beneficiary: This option lists the Beneficiaries created by the user.
FEEDBACK option allows the user to write to us for the betterment and improvisation of the application if any.

Register Complaint: Canara BHIM UPI EMPOWER App
Online App Complaint Box: To register a complaint online using the Official BHIM Canara UPI eMpower App, Please go to Menu—> Profile—> Log a dispute. You may log your complaint in this option and it will be attended.
Resolution of Problem/ Complaint: For transactions within Canara Bank, the complaints will be resolved by a maximum of 3* days . When it involves other Banks it shall be resolved within 3-7* Days.
Canara Public Grievance Redressal System: In this customer has to enter his/ her mobile number, enter the OTP and submit online complaint.
