In May 2019, in the recent app update of BHIM App. The registration of UPI has failed also the existing customer are facing the issue in the login to App.
UPI BHIM App – Error/ Complaint & Support
One of the most irritating problems we can say the users are facing is “Verification of Mobile Number” and “Error in fetching bank accounts“. The verify of mobile number is chargeable due to SMS charges (Rs 1.2 to Rs 1.5) per SMS. The user are typing more than 2-3 time to verify their mobile number. “Error Message” in BHIM app is common now.
(a) BHIM App Update Error (Unable to update the UPI BHIM App).
Solution: In case, you are not able to update the BHIM App, Follow the instructions. Don’t download .APK file of BHIM App from other websites (it may contain virus/ malware).
- Uninstall the previous version of BHIM App
- Go to the Google Play Store.
- You have to log in to your Google Account
- Download/ Install the BHIM App.
- Follow the instruction. – Register mobile number (only use the mobile number, which is registered with the BANK).
- Fetch the bank.
- Set UPI PIN ( Use the Debit Card for that).
If you still have the issue, kindly comment or contact the support team. (Don’t share your debit card information i.e. Debit Card number, CVV, PIN, Expiry date with anyone – the bank official don’t ask such details. So be careful).
(b) Mobile verification issue (this is the major issue occurs after the updating the BHIM App or after installation of UPI BHIM App).
Solution: In such error and problem with the mobile number verification. You have to follow the steps given below.
- Insert the mobile number SIM in the Primary Slot (Slot 1).
- Allow SIM to send/ receive SMS.
- After installing BHIM App – You have to verify the mobile number. Choose the SIM and verify. Your SIM will automatically send the SMS to NCPI server and then you will get the SMS.
- SMS charge is applicable.
- If you still not able to verify. You have to switch off the mobile/ restart and choose the network mode (automatically) from Network setting under the Phone.
- Follow the steps.
(c) Transaction Error/ Failed transaction IRCTC etc.
Solution: There are two types of transaction error. The first is error within BHIM App (UPI to UPI transaction error) and second is an error is generally occur on 3rd party website i.e. Redbus. IRCTC, Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm etc.
If the transaction is successful at your end and you see transaction is pending on the merchant website, then you have to wait for 24 hours (approx).
In case of a failed transaction, you have to make the transaction again.

The National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI), Govt. of India Unified Payment Interface (UPI) is a great success, simplest technology innovation of 21st Century. Using the UPI System, All the Banks in India has developed their own version of UPI. The customer are using them for money transaction, buying movie tickets, shopping, Mobile/ DTH recharge, train ticket, payment at shops etc.
Unified Payment Interface allows the user to transaction 24×7 anywhere and anytime. You also need not to provide bank details i.e. Account Number, IFSC Code, Branch Name. Just create an VPA (Virtual Private Address) that’s it. Now, you have to use this VPA to request money from any UPI Accounts.

Mobile Verification Failed: BHIM UPI App
Registration of Mobile number is mandatory to use the BHIM UPI App. After installing BHIM App, you have to choose mobile number (SIM 1 or SIM 2) for the BHIM UPI registration. You have to make sure that the mobile number should be registered with the BANK to access it on UPI.
BHIM UPI Registration Failed – Mobile Verification Failed.
A large number of customer are reporting this issue on the Google Play Store APP comments section. We too are not able to verify mobile number and register on BHIM UPI App.
Let start to register BHIM App. But before that, I am showing the error message screenshot from my mobile phone.
UPI Registration Failed, Failed to register your mobile on UPI. Click below to try again. This is the screenshot, I have got while registering for BHIM UPI App.
Already 80 Paisa is deducted for SMS charges. So lets try again, so I clicked on TRY AGAIN.
Now, you are in the step to verify your mobile number. We need to send SMS from your phone to verify if your number is registered with your bank account. I have choosen SIM 2 (BSNL), as this mobile number is registered with the Banks.
After clicking the NEXT button, it will take 60 seconds to verify. BHIM UPI App will compose a SMS and sent it from your mobile (SIM) chosen to the NPCI Server to check the authenticity of mobile number and if it is registered in Bank.
I have waited for 60 seconds and after that I have got the message below – “Verify Mobile Failed”. We were unable to process with mobile verification. Now, again it is asking for TRY AGAIN. As I am a fool. The developer of BHIM UPI App must resolve such issue. A large number of customer are facing UPI Registration Failed.
Updated version of BHIM App is also not able to resolve this issue. SMS charges is deducted but the UPI registration is not complete.

Register: BHIM UPI App Complaint Online
After the demonetization, the use of BHIM UPI has increased many folds. Due to the usage and heavy transaction, error in UPI fund transaction, registration, fetching bank account and mobile number verification are increasing. The NCPI developers are making UPI System more robust to handle the increased usage of UPI.
The Unified Payment Interface (UPI) first started in August 2016 with only 21 banks participated in UPI, total 93 thousand transactions with a total value of only 3.1 crores (31 million INR) was registered. The statistics provided by NCPI for November 2018, total 524.94 million transactions with a total value of 82,232.21 crores is done. So, the popularity of UPI is increasing.
